Example
You can create a new account for your Utilities to view each Utility expense separately on your Financial reports.
To create a new category for Gas:
- Enable 'Show Accountancy Information' from Your Profile > Preferences > Show accountancy information > On
- Go to Chart of Accounts
- Select New Account
- Populate the fields for your new account
- You can search for the new account from your Chart of Accounts page:
- Go to your Bank Transactions page
- Enter your new account code or name into the ENTER CATEGORY field:
- Select 'New Category for GAS UTILITY'
- When creating the new category, make sure that you select the correct parent-category, in this case, Utilities:
- Select the new category for your transaction and populate the other fields:
- Press 'Confirm':
- The new category will appear clearly on your Profit and Loss Report:
