The profit and loss report is based on the accounting generated from the transaction categories, not the categories themselves. Your income is typically reflected in this report, which provides a breakdown of your revenue (income) and expenses, helping you track your overall profitability.
To access your income details:
- Go to the Reports section from the dashboard.
- From the Accounting Reports section, open the Profit and Loss report. Your income will be displayed under categories like "Sales" or "Income," depending on how you’ve categorised your income streams.
- Press Show Filters to adjust the date range to see income for a specific period (e.g., monthly, quarterly, or annually).
If you’ve recorded all your sales and income accurately on your Bank Transactions page, this report will give you a clear view of your total earnings. You can download the P&L in Excel to analyse it further.
You can enable more of the financial reports, such as a General Ledger and a Trial Balance Sheet, by enabling 'Show Accountancy Information' from the Preferences menu: Enabling and Accessing Accountant-Level Features in Business Finance Assistant
From your Chart of Accounts page, you can use the search bar to find a certain category and you can view the transactions by pressing the three vertical dots alongside the account:
