You cannot record a customer’s VAT status using Business Finance Assistant. It is your responsibility to keep a separate record of this and then apply the correct VAT rates to your customer using Business Finance Assistant.
To apply the correct VAT rate when creating a new customer:
- Go to ‘Customers’ in the left-hand menu
- Select ‘New Customer’
- Click ‘Advanced’
- Under ‘Finance’ select the correct sales tax
- Populate all other details
- Select ‘Done’
To change the VAT rate for an existing customer:
- Go to ‘Customers’ in the left-hand menu
- Select the customer by clicking on the customer name
- Click the pen icon
- Click ‘Advanced’
- Under ‘Finance’ select the correct sales tax
- Select ‘Done’
